<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Onboard the Royal Princess, culinary adventures are as vast and varied as the destinations the ship itself visits. With an array of dining options that seamlessly blend traditional flavors with innovative gastronomic techniques, every meal becomes an exploration of global cuisines and a celebration of culinary craftsmanship.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The main dining experiences aboard include the Symphony, Allegro, and Concerto Dining Rooms, where guests are treated to a symphony of flavors ranging from hearty traditional dishes to light, health-conscious options. The dining mode—whether &#8220;anytime&#8221; or &#8220;traditional&#8221;—coupled with special menu offerings on formal nights, ensures that every dining preference is catered to with the utmost care<a href="https://www.cruisecritic.com/cruise/princess/royal-princess/dining" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a>.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For those seeking a more casual dining atmosphere, the Horizon Court/Bistro stands out as a buffet by day and a themed bistro by night, offering an eclectic mix of global cuisines without an additional charge. Poolside dining options like Prego Pizzeria and Trident Grill offer laid-back, grab-and-go meals perfect for a day under the sun. Meanwhile, Alfredo’s Pizzeria elevates the pizza dining experience with its hand-stretched Neapolitan pizzas, creating a slice of Italy aboard the Royal Princess<a href="https://www.cruisecritic.com/cruise/princess/royal-princess/dining" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a><a target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Day-9-Tina-in-the-buffet-dining-1-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-56" srcset="http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Day-9-Tina-in-the-buffet-dining-1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Day-9-Tina-in-the-buffet-dining-1-300x200.jpg 300w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Day-9-Tina-in-the-buffet-dining-1-768x512.jpg 768w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Day-9-Tina-in-the-buffet-dining-1-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Day-9-Tina-in-the-buffet-dining-1.jpg 1600w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Day 9 &#8211; Tina in the buffet &#8211; Horizon Court</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Dining aboard the Royal Princess isn&#8217;t just about the food; it&#8217;s about the experience. Specialty dining venues like Sabatini&#8217;s Italian Trattoria and the Crown Grill present an opportunity for guests to indulge in world-class cuisine amid elegant surroundings. Sabatini&#8217;s offers a journey through Northern Italy with its meticulously crafted dishes, while the Crown Grill provides a quintessential steakhouse experience with its premium steaks and seafood<a href="https://www.cruisecritic.com/cruise/princess/royal-princess/dining" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a><a target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Dining-kitchen-tour-1-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-54" srcset="http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Dining-kitchen-tour-1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Dining-kitchen-tour-1-300x200.jpg 300w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Dining-kitchen-tour-1-768x512.jpg 768w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Dining-kitchen-tour-1-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Dining-kitchen-tour-1.jpg 1600w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Dining &#8211; kitchen tour</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Moreover, the Ocean Terrace Seafood Bar caters to the tastes of seafood aficionados with its fresh selections of sushi, sashimi, and caviar, offering a glimpse into the ocean&#8217;s bounty from a splendid vantage point overlooking the Piazza<a href="https://www.cruisecritic.com/cruise/princess/royal-princess/dining" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a><a target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a>.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In a nod to the increasing demand for varied dining experiences, the Royal Princess also introduces unique options such as the Chef&#8217;s Table Lumiere, where diners can enjoy an intimate cooking demonstration and meal prepared by the executive chef, encapsulated within a &#8220;curtain of light&#8221; for a truly exclusive experience<a href="https://www.cruisecritic.com/cruise/princess/royal-princess/dining" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a>.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As the Royal Princess sails across oceans and continents, its dining options stand as a testament to Princess Cruises&#8217; commitment to culinary excellence and innovation. Whether it&#8217;s a casual snack by the pool, a romantic dinner under the stars, or an immersive gourmet adventure, the Royal Princess promises a gastronomic journey that&#8217;s as diverse and captivating as the ports it visits.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Once on Bruny Island the places to visit include Truganini Lookout at the neck. There are about 200 stairs to climb but the view at the top is well worth the effort. It gives you a bird&#8217;s eye view of the spectacular natural landscape of both North and South Bruny Island the neck is an important habitat for Bruny Island&#8217;s native wildlife. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">At dusk you can observe short-tailed Shear Waters and little penguins returning to their Burrows in the sand dunes the best time to see these cute animals is during the warmer months of September to February. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Adventure Bay </h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="431" src="http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Adventure-Bay-Store-on-Bruny-Island-1-of-12022-1024x431.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-40" srcset="http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Adventure-Bay-Store-on-Bruny-Island-1-of-12022-1024x431.jpg 1024w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Adventure-Bay-Store-on-Bruny-Island-1-of-12022-300x126.jpg 300w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Adventure-Bay-Store-on-Bruny-Island-1-of-12022-768x323.jpg 768w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Adventure-Bay-Store-on-Bruny-Island-1-of-12022-1536x646.jpg 1536w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Adventure-Bay-Store-on-Bruny-Island-1-of-12022.jpg 1600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Adventure Bay Store on Bruny Island</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">One of the top 10 Australian beaches rated in 2023 by Tourism Australia. Adventure Bay is known for its beautiful seven kilometer long east facing beach. It has many large gum trees surrounding the beach and the Cliffs of fluted cape on the southern end. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In 1642 when Abel Tasman attempted to land at Adventure Bay, then nameless he failed due to stormy seas. In 1773 a British captain Tobias Fernaux came in his ship to Adventure Bay and gave it its name he anchored his ship in the bay for five days. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">After becoming separated from Captain Cook in the HMS Resolution during Cook&#8217;s second voyage James Cook and William Bligh followed in turn seeking fresh water fuel new lands to chart and respite for months at sea. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Adventure Bay General Store is just opposite the Adventure Bay on the other side of Adventure Bay Road. It is well stocked with everything from meat fruit and veggies to hardware items, fishing gear and gifts. It also is the only place on the island where you can get petrol, although it&#8217;s probably best to fill up on the mainland before heading over to Bruny Island unless you want to support the small business. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">There are picnic tables near the beach. It&#8217;s very handy to grab some food from the store and then enjoy a nice picnic here during a day trip to Bruny Island. Also why not try a national pie while you&#8217;re there. Also there are plenty of other food options. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Cape Bruny Lighthouse </h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="683" height="1024" src="http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Alicia-at-the-Bruny-Island-lighthouse-1-of-12022-683x1024.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-41" srcset="http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Alicia-at-the-Bruny-Island-lighthouse-1-of-12022-683x1024.jpg 683w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Alicia-at-the-Bruny-Island-lighthouse-1-of-12022-200x300.jpg 200w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Alicia-at-the-Bruny-Island-lighthouse-1-of-12022-768x1152.jpg 768w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Alicia-at-the-Bruny-Island-lighthouse-1-of-12022-1024x1536.jpg 1024w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Alicia-at-the-Bruny-Island-lighthouse-1-of-12022.jpg 1067w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 683px) 100vw, 683px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Alicia at the Bruny Island lighthouse</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Cape Bruny Lighthouse is located on the southwestern edge of the cape on south Bruny island. It is the second oldest extinct Lighthouse Tower in Australia and it is the longest man lighthouse in history. It was first lit in March 1838 and was eventually decommissioned on 6 August 1996. Cape Bruny<br>Lighthouse offers spectacular panoramic views of the rugged South Bruny coastline. It can be quite windy and cool even in the summer so make sure you pack some warm clothes when visiting the lighthouse. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Best oysters ever good price Bruny island is well known for its excellent local produce fresh oysters and seafood artisan cheese chocolate and fudge honey berries. My favorite are the oysters. If you&#8217;re an oyster fan like me make sure your visit Get Shucked. I had the best oysters I&#8217;ve ever had there it was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. If oysters aren&#8217;t your thing there are many other food options including takeaway food at Alana still. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In this video we cover the Huon Valley which is located in Tasmania, Australia. [Music] After we arrived in Hobart we hired a car and drove Southeast 60 kilometers and arrived at the Kermandie Hotel in Port Huon.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It is a heritage building built in 1932 right next to the Huon River. Port Huon was once a trading port and a destination for international apple boats which exported apples from this region. Nowadays Port Huon is a hub for fishing and tourism. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Our room at the Kermandie Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Even though the hotel is on the Huon Highway we found it was very quiet, our room also had a great view of the river overlooking the marina with local vessels tied up in their moorings.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="351" src="http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/KermandieHotelTasmania-1024x351.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-32" srcset="http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/KermandieHotelTasmania-1024x351.jpg 1024w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/KermandieHotelTasmania-300x103.jpg 300w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/KermandieHotelTasmania-768x263.jpg 768w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/KermandieHotelTasmania-1536x526.jpg 1536w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/KermandieHotelTasmania-2048x701.jpg 2048w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Kermandie Hotel Port Huon</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Staff were very friendly. During our stay we had dinner at the Kermandie Bar. It has a very nice atmosphere and the food was good too especially the polenta chips which are well worth trying. You can also dine in the Kermandie restaurant and it&#8217;s open breakfast, lunch and dinner. We didn&#8217;t try it but I&#8217;ve seen good reviews about it particularly the breakfast. Here is a link to <a href="https://www.kermandie.com.au/">Kermandie&#8217;s Hotel&#8217;s website</a> if you want to check it out yourself.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Huon Valley, as you probably already know Port Huon is part of the famous Huon Valley. The area was named by Frenchman Admiral Bruni D’Entrecasteaux after his second in command Jean-Michel Huon De Kermadec when he explored the area.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Apple growing industry in the Huon Valley began in 1840 with the first European settlers and became the area&#8217;s main industry for over a century until the 1950s. Today apples, pears, cherries and fish farming are the main Huon Valley produce. We saw many apple farms when driving around the area. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It is so nice to sit on the banks of the picturesque Huon River looking South towards Antarctica. The river is a real beauty, especially early in the morning when there is no wind. Come and admire the stunning mirror image of the nearby mountains, trees, fishing boats and the jetty on the water while being surrounded by wild flowers and the world&#8217;s cleanest air. There are a few towns in the Huon Valley including Franklin, Jefferson, Huonville and Cygnet.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/IMGL1052-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-33" srcset="http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/IMGL1052-1024x683.jpg 1024w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/IMGL1052-300x200.jpg 300w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/IMGL1052-768x512.jpg 768w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/IMGL1052-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/IMGL1052-2048x1365.jpg 2048w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Huon River Jetty</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">For this trip we only scheduled two nights and one full day in this part of Tasmania which included a trip to Bruni Island so we only visited Geeveston. Geeveston is only a three minute drive from the Kermandie Hotel where we stayed.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you ever wondered where the name Geeveston is from, in 1839 Lady Jane Franklin purchased a large patch of land in the Huon Valley region from a man called John Price she then began distributing parcels of land to the poor settlers. This is known as the settlement. The first settlers that were granted land arrived in the early 1840s among them was John William Jeeves who originally settled in Franklin in 1849. The Geeves family took up the first 80 acres of land in Lightwood bottom as it was known and then the Geeves family was the first to grow apples in the area which led to the successful apple growing industry in the Huon Valley region.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The town&#8217;s name was then changed the Geeves town in 1861 in honour of the man who began its development. Geeves Town then eventually became Geeveston. This makes me wonder probably this is why the most Southern Blues Club in Australia or even the world is called the Lightwood Bottom Blues club which is of course in Geeveston. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Geeveston was historically a timber town. The southern Forest saw fed Sawmills and the Australian paper money pulp employed almost 400 people from the town for nearly 100 years however the southern Forest became protected and the timber industry in the town had no future. Now Geeveston is a tourism destination. There is an outstanding forest and Heritage Center now known as the Geeveston Visitor Center. On the streets you can often see featured statues of local people carved out of timber. There are also interesting wood carving demonstrations for you to see and wood carving artwork for purchase in The Visitor Center.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We&#8217;ve come across this One-Stop food and beverage shop takeaway in town. What a delightful spot, delicious food and friendly staff. They serve up a big range of food from Turkish pide, Gozleme, kebabs to Pizza, fish and chips. The food was so yummy that we ended up dining there twice during our short stay in the Huon Valley so definitely stop by when you are visiting this part of Tasmania.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Geeveston is the gateway to the Hartz Mountains National Park. I certainly want to come back to explore the national park, visit Hasting caves and the thermal Springs and visit the Tahune forest Airwalk which I didn&#8217;t have time to do on this trip.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Now did you know most of the scenes of the ABC television comedy series Rosehaven were filmed in Geeveston? Why not watch this video and find out more.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Welcome to Time to Travel, travel and cruise tips. Geeveston is a small town located in the Huon Valley in the southeast of Tasmania while this video is about Geeveston I&#8217;d like to focus on ABC television comedy series Rosehaven as the majority of the scenes were filmed here. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Many Australians myself included got to know Geeveston through this show. If you&#8217;re a fan of Rosehaven come and visit Geeveston Information Visitor Center. It is located on the Main Street of the town. Once you enter the door you will see a big Rosehaven sign. Beneath it is some memorabilia from this popular series and there are many photos of the cast in action the two main characters Emma and Daniel acted by Cecilia Paquola and Luke McGregor are of course featured here.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><br></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="683" src="http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/GeevestonInformationCentre-1024x683.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-25" srcset="http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/GeevestonInformationCentre-1024x683.jpg 1024w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/GeevestonInformationCentre-300x200.jpg 300w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/GeevestonInformationCentre-768x512.jpg 768w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/GeevestonInformationCentre-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/GeevestonInformationCentre-2048x1365.jpg 2048w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Geeveston Visitor Information which includes some Rosehaven material.</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Only a few meters away on the opposite side of the street we have found this butcher. If you&#8217;re a fan of Rosehaven I&#8217;m sure you can recognise it straight away. This is a 24-hour butcher in the show it was really great to actually walk on the streets in Geeveston and see scenes like this. Another great place to check out if you&#8217;re a Rosehaven fan is the Longley Hotel.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="518" src="http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/LongleyHotel-RosehavenPub-setting-1024x518.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-26" srcset="http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/LongleyHotel-RosehavenPub-setting-1024x518.jpg 1024w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/LongleyHotel-RosehavenPub-setting-300x152.jpg 300w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/LongleyHotel-RosehavenPub-setting-768x389.jpg 768w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/LongleyHotel-RosehavenPub-setting-1536x777.jpg 1536w, http://timetotravel.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/LongleyHotel-RosehavenPub-setting-2048x1036.jpg 2048w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption">Longley Hot which was used as a location in Rosehaven</figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In there you&#8217;ll find the popular pub featured in Rosehaven where many scenes were filmed. The hotel was built in 1861 and it has the longest huon timber bar in the world Why not grab a drink and have a close look at this photo wall and see how many photos from Rosehaven you can pick out. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Longley Hotel as its name suggests is located in the town called Longley which is about 40 kilometers Northeast of Geeveston Apart from Rosehaven being filmed here Huon Valley has so much more to offer than expected. This video talks more about Geeveston and Huon Valley in detail so why not watch it now?</p>
